Toyota continues to be popular among consumers

Last May, Le Guide de l'auto revealed the 10 best-selling vehicles in the world in 2022. Out of the 10 vehicles listed, 5 are Toyota models, including the top 2 positions. The Toyota Rav4 came in first with 1.02 million SUVs sold, followed by the Toyota Corolla sedan with 992,000 cars sold. The other three Toyota models on the list are the Camry in 5th position with 673,000 vehicles sold, the Hilux in 6th position with 632,000 vehicles sold, and the Corolla Cross in 8th position with 530,000 vehicles sold. The latter model made its debut in North America in 2021 and consumer interest was immediate. Since then, its popularity has only grown.

Success over 12 generations

Whether here in Canada or elsewhere on the planet, Toyota's vehicle popularity is not new. It began in 1966 with the arrival of a compact car that won over consumers. With 51 million units sold since its launch, the Toyota Corolla has become synonymous with reliability, energy efficiency, and consistent performance. Its global appeal lies in its versatility, suitable for drivers of all backgrounds and generations.

Indeed, the Corolla holds the top spot this year as the best-selling vehicle in history. In 8th position with 21 million sedans sold worldwide, the Camry is also part of this prestigious list.

Top sellers in Canada as well

In Canada, Toyota vehicles are also well-known and highly regarded. The Toyota RAV4 has firmly established itself as one of the most purchased models by Canadian consumers with 55,921 units sold in 2022. Its success is due to its winning combination of style, comfort, and performance. Canadian consumers are drawn to the RAV4's versatility, offering ample space for passengers and luggage, and an all-terrain drive that adapts to the country's varied conditions.

With 33,096 units sold, the Toyota Corolla is the top sedan on the list of the 10 best-selling vehicles in Canada. Its legendary reliability gives it a unique status, making it a wise choice for drivers who prefer a more compact model. Additionally, Toyota's reputation for durability and low maintenance costs further strengthens Canadian confidence in the brand.

Toyota's reliability is a major factor

Why are Toyota models still the best-selling today? The key lies in Toyota's focus on quality, durability, customer satisfaction, and its commitment to staying at the forefront of environmentally friendly technologies. All vehicles manufactured by Toyota, including the Corolla and RAV4, embody these principles. They offer exceptional build quality, recognized reliability, and constant innovation – exactly what every consumer wants when purchasing a new vehicle.
